Award-Winning St. Catherine’s Village Starting The Year Off With Savings On Memory Care Living

(Madison, Mississippi)—For the fourth consecutive year, St. Catherine’s Village has been voted Best Retirement Community in Mississippi by readers of the Clarion-Ledger, which is part of the USA Today network and the state’s largest newspaper.

Dubbed “Mississippi’s Official People’s Choice Awards,” Best Of 2018 Awards were determined by Mississippi residents 18 and older who cast their ballots online in numerous categories from beauty and health to services and from dining to sports. St. Catherine’s Village also received the award for Best Assisted Living Facility.

As Madison’s preeminent Life Plan Community, St. Catherine’s Village offers independent living in apartments and garden homes, assisted living in Marian Hall, memory care in Campbell Cove and Hughes Center, skilled nursing in Siena Center, and skilled nursing dedicated to memory care.

“Often, holiday gatherings are a time when loving family members recognize that living at home isn’t the answer any longer for a loved one with memory loss,” said Mary Margaret Judy, St. Catherine’s Village executive director. “When the concerns for a loved one become overwhelming, it is time to seek an environment with assistance to make life easier and preserve individual dignity. Always a most difficult decision, there comes a time for action.”

St. Catherine’s Village is offering an incentive to help make a hard decision a tiny bit easier. A new resident who moves into Campbell Cove by March 1, 2019 with a rental contract for memory care assisted living can save 10 percent on monthly service fees for one year.

Included in the monthly fees at Campbell Cove are three meals a day; coffee and refreshments; supervision of self-administered medications; assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and grooming; 24-hour professional nursing staff; utilities except telephone and internet; weekly housekeeping and linen laundering; and 24-hour security.

Licensed by the State of Mississippi as an “Alzheimer’s Assisted Living” facility, Campbell Cove offers a warm, home-like environment for individuals facing memory loss. The building accommodates 36 residents in three color-coded wings, each with a common living room and dining area along with 12 furnished private bedrooms. In the center are a large multipurpose area, arts and crafts room, recreation center, and kitchen. With its combination of personal and public spaces, this layout allows individuals to enjoy their privacy yet participate in activities as they desire. A secure walking garden and landscaped patios give residents the opportunity to spend time outdoors in a familiar and protected setting.

Programming is person-centered with scheduled—but also unplanned—activities that are stimulating, interesting and designed to enhance each resident’s quality of life. These include social, cultural, recreational, and spiritual.

In addition, all memory care staff members are specially trained and follow a social model of care to provide loving, nurturing assistance while supporting each person’s capabilities and affirming his or her dignity.

Unparalleled services and facilities are the hallmark not only of Campbell Cove but also of all St. Catherine’s Village. Located on 160 acres in Madison, it is the first retirement community in Mississippi to earn accreditation by CARF-CCAC. This “commitment to excellence” seal signifies that the campus exceeds the standards established by the only international accrediting body for Continuing Care Retirement Communities.

The private, gated community boasts wooded grounds, protected and beautiful outdoor spaces, a caring staff, on-site resident-centered nursing care, and a mission-focused environment for adults age 62 and older.
