(Madison, Mississippi) St. Catherine’s Village—Madison County’s preeminent Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)—currently has limited availability in studio and one-bedroom independent living apartments for new residents.
This all-inclusive Life Care community offers adults age 62 and older the opportunity to relocate to a prime location in Madison. If desired accommodations are unavailable at this time, potential residents can add their names to a waiting list.
“St. Catherine’s Village is a place where senior adults can leave major responsibilities such as home repairs and lawn maintenance behind,” said Mary Margaret Judy, executive director at St. Catherine’s Village. “In return, residents are offered financial security along with the camaraderie and friendships that are built here and bring innumerable joy to so many.”
All-inclusive Life Care is one of several living options available for seniors. It allows active adults to move into a cozy studio apartment or spacious garden home and enjoy their independence. Then, over time, if they require additional assistance, they have a whole continuum of care available to them.
“Over the long term, Life Care provides an outstanding value by guaranteeing affordable services throughout retirement years and offering residents lifetime access to all levels of care when needed,” said Judy.
When a new resident enters the Life Care program at St. Catherine’s Village, he or she pays a one-time entrance fee. While this up-front investment is typical, contract options also are available with a zero entrance fee. The program then offers unlimited, all-inclusive Life Care—which means services are guaranteed throughout each resident’s lifetime at a predetermined rate. As a result, they know monthly expenses from day one and can plan accordingly. This provides peace of mind for residents as well as their families.
Additionally, being in the Life Care program allows for a smooth transition as a person ages and the level of care required changes. Residents can move from independent living to assisted living to nursing or memory care as needed all within the comfort and familiar setting of St. Catherine’s Village.
Whether in an independent living apartment or garden home, Marian Hall assisted living, Campbell Cove or Hughes Center for memory care, or Siena Center skilled nursing, residents pay a monthly fee that covers utilities, services and amenities that make living at St. Catherine’s Village comfortable, carefree and secure. The Federal Tax Code allows a partial deduction of these fees annually.
According to Judy, Life Care is a key component of the St. Catherine’s Village lifestyle because it allows someone to direct his or her own future and plan for life’s uncertainties.
“Benefits are physical and financial security…now and in the future,” she said. “High quality nursing care is guaranteed for a lifetime as the same cost of personal care.”
St. Catherine’s Village is the first retirement community in Mississippi to earn accreditation by CARF-CCAC. This “commitment to excellence” seal signifies that the campus exceeds the standards established by the nation’s only accrediting body for CCRCs.
The community offers unparalleled services and facilities, companionship, a caring staff, unlimited access to on-site resident-centered nursing care, and a mission-focused environment. The ministry encourages residents in all levels to enjoy fullness of life, health and faith.
St. Catherine’s Village is a service of St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. and is sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois, who have owned and operated the hospital since 1946. The private, gated community provides the right care at the right time for those in their retirement years. Today, the not-for-profit, all-inclusive life care community offers adults age 62 or over a graceful lifestyle where independence and activity is a priority.
