Tea with Sister D – April 26

Sister Sharon Therese, a Dominican Sister from Springfield, will be here April 26 for Tea with Sister D. She has a passion for ecology, care of the earth and gives presentations on these topics to groups throughout the world. We are happy to have Sr. Sharon come and share her knowledge of and interest in care for the earth.

Congratulations to Darlene White on being named our Healthy Lives Wellness Hero. She made a few lifestyle changes and has seen positive results in achieving her health and wellness goals. This program is open to all St. Catherine’s Village employees and we encourage everyone to participate. Learn more at ourhealthylives.org. At an Earth Day celebration, Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler gave St. Catherine’s Village a proclamation for demonstrating outstanding leadership in environmental preservation. She was joined by a few members of the community’s Green Team, which encourages residents to take advantage of everyday energy-saving opportunities.

Ballet Magnificat! is an arts organization dedicated to presenting the good news of Jesus Christ. Its professional touring companies have performed nationally and internationally, ministering to audiences in the United States as well as Czech Republic, Canada, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Singapore, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Belgium, Greece, France, Italy, Macedonia, Kosovo, Israel, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, Switzerland, Korea, Philippines, and China. Under the direction of Kathy Thibodeaux, the touring companies bring spiritual concepts to life through the powerful medium of dance. The Artists of Ballet Magnificat! come from around the world to spread the life changing message of Jesus Christ.

St. Catherine’s Village is hosting a free seminar with Professor and neurological expert Dr. Tom Mosley. He will share the latest advances in Alzheimer’s and dementia research happening now at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center’s MIND Center–a leader in the search to crack the code of Alzheimer’s disease. Also, take a virtual look at the new Gertrude C. Ford MIND Research Center in UMMC’s state-of-the-art Translational Research Center.
